Thank you for your interest in the second annual Oxford Summer Music Institute! Please see below for prices and application information, and other details surrounding the institute. Spots are limited. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. This year we are proud to offer instruction in the following instruments:

Day-to-Day
The typical schedule will consist of a mix of private lessons, master classes, theory classes, group performance classes, practice time, group activities, and sessions led by institute staff and special guests. In these sessions, students will learn about topics such as music from across the globe, practice tips, music listening, stress management/relief, as well as other important topics for being a musician. Participants will have a balance of strengthening their musical skills while also having fun with other participants! By the end of the week, the students will be prepared for upcoming performances, have new friends, and develop a deeper passion for music.
Students will perform at the end of the week on Friday, June 14 throughout the day in Souers Recital Hall (Center for Performing Arts). Students may perform solo or be assigned to a small ensemble group to perform, depending on instrument and interest of the student. The recital schedule will be sent out by the start of the institute.
Requirements
In order to be considered for the Summer Institute, participants should:
Be between 5th and 12th grades during the 2023-2024 school year
(can be a 2024 graduate)Be able to fluently read and perform sheet music/musical notation
Be able to play on their chosen instrument
Be eager to learn and advance their skill on their instrument
Be able to manage their time independently.
Tuition
The price for the one-week institute is $400. All tuition is due by June 1.

Application
Students must submit an application for the camp. These applications help us decide what music to perform in small ensembles, as well as which teachers they will be placed with.
